Heritage Collection California Chardonnay, De Loach

Description

For the "Heritage Reserve" series, Russian River Valley wines are combined with those from selected premier cool-climate growing regions in California, particularly the Central coast, to produce an approachable, good value range. De Loach practice sustainable viticulture and minimally intrustive winemaking.

The majority of must was cool fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures and approximately 20% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation. A small amount of richly textured barrel-fermented Chardonnay was blended in to attain a more balanced wine. One third of the wine was aged in small French oak barrels for five months.

This wine displays nicely integrated citrus and honey notes that intertwine perfectly with tropical flavours of pineapple, papaya and mango. This wine is soft and lingers long on the palate.
