Alentejo Wine
Alentejo is home to much of Portugal’s cork forests, producing corks to seal wine bottles used all over the world. It is one of Portugal’s largest wine producing regions, with vineyards covering roughly a third of its landmass. It has a hot climate, making it well suited for making full bodied red wines using a wide variety of grapes including Tempranillo (aka Tinta Roriz), Alfrocheiro, Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira.
