Basilicata Wine
By far and away the most important wine region in Basilicata is Aglianico del Vulture DOC. The red wines from this mountainous region are made using the Aglianico grape, which produces full bodied, rich wines that can evolve over time. The vines are planted on the volcanic soils of Mount Vulture, which gives its name to Basilicata’s most famous DOC.
