Maipo Valley Wine
The Maipo Valley has the smallest vineyard area within the Valle Central wine regions. Its proximity to the capital Santiago means that land prices here are high, as the suburbs continue to extend out from the city. With its hot climate the valley excels at producing red wines, often using the bordeaux blending varietals in a style that is somewhat reminiscent of those made in California.
