Uco Valley Wine
Within the wider Mendoza region there are several smaller appellations, such as the Uco Valley. Nestled in the foothills of the Andes mountains it is a high-altitude wine region (900-1,500 metres). It is most famous for its red wines, which make up roughly 80% of wine production here. As well as Malbec you can find Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and Pinot Noir grown here.
